Dr. Richard B. Allen is the senior associate and founder of Associated Coastal ENT. He resides on North Hutchinson Island with his wife Barbara and children Courtney, Caitlin and Nick.
He is originally from St. Petersburg and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke University in 1973. Following medical school at The University of Virginia, he finished two years of General Surgery Residency then Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Florida-Shands Teaching Hospital. Since leaving Gainesville, he has practiced Ear, Nose, Throat, and Facial Surgery in St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee Counties since 1982. He has been Board Certified by The American Academy of Otolaryngology since 1983.
Dr. Allen’s hospital affiliations include:
- Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute
- Port St. Lucie Medical Center
In addition, Dr. Allen performs ambulatory surgery
at HealthSouth Atlantic Surgery Center and St. Lucie Surgery Center.
He has been a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
His subspecialty interests include Laser Sinus Surgery, ear surgery,
and allergy. He is highly trained in all aspects of Head and Neck
Cancer Surgery as well.
His participation includes the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the Florida Medical Society, as well as serving as the Vice-President of the Florida Network of Otolaryngologists. He has served as Chief of Surgery at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute.
Dr. Allen's personal interests include sport fishing, boating, and photography.
He is a member of the Indian River Presbyterian Church and has served on the Planning Committee.
