Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Kirsten Atwood, a practicing audiologist since 1988, joined Associated Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat in June of 2007.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing at the University of South Alabama in 1985 and her master’s degree in Audiology at the same institution in 1988.  She completed her doctoral degree at the Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona in 2003.  Before relocating to south Florida in 2003, Dr. Atwood worked as the Director of Audiology at the Southern Otologic Clinic in Augusta, Georgia.  She maintained that position for more than 12 years.  During her years in south Florida, she has been an consulting Audiologist with ENT physician practices between West Palm Beach and Fort Pierce.  Her areas of interest and specialization include diagnostic audiology with a strong emphasis on hearing aid technologies and hearing aid dispensing.

Dr. Atwood is licensed by the state of Florida and holds national certification through the American Speech Language and hearing Association (ASHA). In addition, she holds memberships with the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), ASHA, and the Florida Academy of Audiology (FLAA).


Lori Kielty Girouard, M.A., CCC-A
Senior Audiologist

Lori Kielty Girouard has been a member of the Associated Coastal team since 2001.  Ms. Girouard received her B.S. in Communication Disorders at Worcester State College.  She completed her master’s degree in Audiology at the University of Massachusetts in 1991.  Prior to joining Associated Coastal, she was practicing with an ENT group in Worcester, MA for ten years.  Her experience includes diagnostic and ABR testing, intra-operative cranial nerve monitoring and the dispensing of digital and bone anchored implantable hearing aids.  Additionally, she served as a clinical preceptor for the University of Massachusetts Graduate Program as well as Louisiana Tech’s School of Audiology.  Ms. Girouard is presently enrolled in the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology’s doctoral program.  
                                                                                                                   
Ms. Girouard is licensed by the states of Florida, Massachusetts and holds national certification through the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).  In addition, she is a fellow with the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and holds membership with ASHA.
